Important Information for Colorado PERA Members

One of the insurers for the long term care program offered to PERA members and retirees, Penn Treaty, announced on Friday, October 3, 2008, that it is suspending sales of new policies. Penn Treaty's subsidiary, American Network Insurance Company (ANIC), will not issue any new long-term care policies as of October 3. Therefore, PERA retirees, members and eligible family members who are not already participants in the long-term care program cannot sign-up for new policies today or in the near-term. The current policies issued by ANIC and Penn Treaty will continue to be serviced and renewed for the foreseeable future. For further information please click here.
